Time Line Activity: This activity is present throughout the interactive site, introduced and reminded at each period overview. The task is simple. It requires students to record all important years they discover as they progress through the site (with a summary of why that year is significant) and then present that on a time line they'll update as they go. If you'd prefer students to be aware of this activity from the beginning, instruct them to draw an arrow down an A4 page and record their dates from the beginning. This is particularly recommended if you are not instructing students to progress through the site chronologically
Dictation Test: Students are presented with an audio recording of a passage for dictation to recreate the White Australia Dictation Test, although to an easier degree. Students will need a pen and paper for this exercise in order to be faithful to the test, and only play the recording once.
Assimilation Worksheet: To the right is the assimilation worksheet, which offers students a variety of sources and questions to answer but encourages further research.

To the left is the Migrant Hostel Research Task Sheet. The sheet contains only questions that students will need to research in order to answer. If you wish to scaffold researching, feel free to include sources such as the National Archive's fact sheet, the migration Heritage Centre's page on Voyager Point, and/or information on Villawood Detention Centre.

Scandals Activity: This activity requires students to read one of three sources and write a summary of that scandal and how they believe it impacted the gradual abolition of the White Australia Policy. The sources can be found on the Eastern Migrants page of the Populate or Perish period.
Citizenship Test Discussion: A video is presented about the Australian Citizenship test whereby a man surveys passersby on their ability to complete some of the test questions. He then asks some questions of the participants and, in this activity, those questions are positioned to the students is a discussion afterwards. Students are encouraged to discuss with those next to them if they're also up to this section of the site
